Technology are kept on increasing each years, and so does medical equipment. But what are the relation between both of them? Technology could be applied into medical, in order to help medical consultant examine and analyze their patients more faster.
And not just stopping in there computer system not only could be applied in billing or organizing electric equipment in hospital scope, but also could help monitoring patients health records.
The way it works actually more like network monitoring system. Certain information that were trigger by reports from actual condition of the patients, the data would be transfer to computer, later the data are transfer into pager or short message text or any telecommunication devices that belong to doctors or medical consultants.
Commonly there are three types of computerized alerting system being used, which are:
1. Critical Laboratory alerts
2. Physiologic alerts
3. Medication alerts.
Other kind of technology inside medical world is patient monitoring system. Based on the fact that we will need more medical consultant monitoring patients health condition manually, then created hemodinamic and saturated oxygen monitoring system which are commonly used in Intensive Care Unit room.
With equipment such as medical alarm, and proper alerting system, hopefully each error and mis-communication that effecting on patients condition could be reduced drastically.
