Nigella sativa or black seeds grown in various parts of the world, including Saudi Arabia, North Africa and parts of Asia. Nigella sativa is a fennel flowers from the family Ranunculaceae. The seeds of Nigella sativa small size and short (length between 1-2mm), black, trigonal shape, have a strong flavor and spicy like a pepper. Herbal remedies and alternative medicines are used throughout the world and in the past herbs often represented the original sources of most drugs. The plant kingdom has provided an endless source of medicinal plants first used in their crude forms as herbal teas, syrups, infusions, ointments, liniments and powders.
